If the moon can move the tides, what else is being moved? This month’s Societal Constellation turned our gaze skyward, exploring how the larger spheres of influence — Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and beyond — shape both self and society. What we discovered was not just cosmic connection, but a living reminder that we are part of a far greater intelligence, one that is always in motion and quietly shaping the rhythm of our lives.
October Societal Constellation
Each month, I host a Societal Constellation — a collective exploration of the unseen dynamics shaping our shared human experience. These gatherings invite us to step beyond personal stories and enter the wider field: what happens when we look at life through a systemic, relational, and sometimes cosmic lens?
Setting the Field
Ten of us gathered for this light-hearted yet profound exploration. We began by setting up representatives for Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto, Neptune, Venus, Earth, and the Human inhabitants of Earth. Two open spaces were left for participants to enter as themselves and sense how it felt to stand within this field of planetary influence.
As the constellation unfolded, the space filled with both laughter and depth.Venus soon made her dazzling entrance — and before long, she and Pluto were clearly having a thing. We were in hysterics as they flirted outrageously while our resident astrologer confirmed that, indeed, in mythology Pluto (Hades) abducted Persephone and there was a 'thing' between them. A reminder, perhaps, that even celestial dynamics have their passionate entanglements.
Each of us took turns representing different planets, noticing how position and proximity subtly informed the experience. The playfulness helped balance the depth — a reminder that the cosmos itself may not be entirely serious.
What Unfolded
Each participant had a unique experience. Some who stepped in “as themselves” felt an immediate sense of expansion — as though plugged into a vast current of energy, intelligence, and belonging. Others found it dense or uncomfortable, describing sensations of disconnection or even a desire not to be here on Earth.
This contrast sparked a fascinating reflection: Could these sensations echo a forgotten memory — that we are more than our physical selves, that we once experienced life as part of something much larger?Or perhaps they point to a deep, unspoken longing to return to that state of connection?
Interestingly, those representing the planets or the collective of Humanity found their orientation far more easily. The relationships between planets were lively, humorous, and full of archetypal resonance.
Venus and Pluto, in particular, stole the show — their dynamic was magnetic, flirtatious, and utterly mischievous. Our resident astrologer laughed aloud, noting how true this was to mythology: Pluto (Hades) abducting Persephone — Venus watching from the sidelines, adding her charm and complication to the mix. It was both hilarious and strikingly revealing of the archetypal patterns that continue to play out in the collective field.
The Earth–Human Relationship
One of the most poignant dynamics emerged between Earth and the Human Inhabitants of Earth. Almost without exception, those representing humanity became aware of an abusive quality in their relationship with the planet — a subtle sense of taking advantage of Earth’s generosity.
When I stepped in as the Human Inhabitants myself, I could feel it viscerally: a taking that wasn’t clean, a relationship that had lost its balance. The representative for Earth, meanwhile, began to feel tired — aware of having been used, depleted, and unseen.
It was sobering, yet also deeply humanising. By acknowledging this imbalance in the field, something honest began to move. A new kind of respect — quiet, reverent, and real — began to take its place.
The Afternoon Exploration
In the afternoon, we broke into groups of three and set up new constellations with three key elements:
Myself
The Solar System (not the entire Universe — just our local system)
The Energy Capacity within the Solar System that is available to and for Myself
This next step was about bringing the vastness of the morning into a more intimate, embodied experience. If we are indeed part of this larger energetic system, how might that awareness expand our personal capacity?
The results were quietly astonishing. For many, as “Myself” found its place within the Solar System, a palpable expansion occurred — as though the body remembered how to draw from this larger energetic field. For others, the constellation revealed the ways we unconsciously limit or block this connection, cutting ourselves off from the immense support that is always present.
What We Discovered
What emerged overall was a deep reminder: we are not isolated beings on a struggling planet, but participants in a vast, interconnected system. The same gravitational and energetic laws that move the planets around the sun are also moving through us.
When we orient ourselves to that scale — when we look up and out, rather than only down and in — something fundamental shifts. The nervous system settles. Perspective returns. A larger calm enters the room.
Something remembers.
Something reconnects.
Something recharges.
We realign — not with effort, but by belonging again to the flow that is always there.
